When I moved to Tilburg almost two years ago, I had no idea what to expect. Being from the north of the Netherlands, this small little town in the south really gave me a culture shock. Because I don’t have a lot of classmates and I knew no one in Tilburg, I decided to join I*ESN Tilburg. During TOP-week, we visited Carpe Noctem, and I immediately liked the international vibe that was going on. Some members told me that it is a very chill association, with not too many responsibilities and no hazing. This sounded amazing, so I decided to join! Little did I know that this was going to be one of the best decisions of my life!
In my first semester, I somehow joined a mentor group full of exchange students and a lot of adopted Dutch kids. It was amazing to see how students from all over the world could enjoy a small city such as Tilburg. I had the most fun with group 11! After that, I decided to become a mentor myself, and this was even more fun! Especially guiding a group of 25 exchange students that don’t know how to bike through Tilburg during TOP-week was a challenge, but all the friendships I made were so worth it.
After experiencing every cantus, trip, party, dinner and pub quiz at I*ESN Tilburg, I can tell you with certainty, that I do not regret a single thing! At this international community you will truly find a home away from home!
