History

I*ESN Tilburg is a non-profit student association, which is especially focused on international (minded) students.

I*ESN Tilburg is a non-profit organization that was formed by a merger of ICONN and ESN Tilburg on April 12th, 2011. Both organizations looked after incoming international students in Tilburg. ICONN mainly focused on the degree-seeking students, where ESN Tilburg concentrated themselves on exchange students. On July 25th (2011), I*ESN Tilburg was officially founded in Tilburg. The organization looks after both groups of international students. Next to that, the association is open to Dutch internationally-minded students who want to gain international experience and broaden their views at home, or had an experience abroad themselves and want to contribute to the international student life of Tilburg. Behind this very new organization, lies years of experience in the field of making international students feel at home in Tilburg.

These years of experiences and our own bar Carpe Diem has allowed in I*ESN to grow into the largest student association in Tilburg. In the summer of 2016 we celebrated our first Lustrum! This special event also marked another special transition for I*ESN. For five years, Carpe Diem was the home away from home for tens of thousands international and Dutch students. However, with the association growing to 800 members on a yearly bases, we outgrew Carpe Diem. In the summer of 2016 we moved to a new bar in the city centre of Tilburg! Carpe Noctem will open a new chapter in the book that is I*ESN Tilburg. This new bar will give I*ESN even more opportunities to grow and hold a wider range of activities.
